First off I'm using a DD 11x16 Commander coil and the stock DD 11"
Docs gold screamer power setup
Jolly Roger Headphones with dual volume controls (very important I'll get in to that in a minute)
Gpx5000

Site specific rituals:
*Most Most Most (did I say most) important is to get that threshold steady. This is so important for any area. Nice and quiet just on the verge of being audible and smooth is your goal here. Emi is a Killer for finding brass. After you achieve steady threshold any sounds that repeat no matter how faint start dig n! I found a lead dripping at over 18" God as my witness!!!!
-So turn that threshold knob to where it is a steady solid humm
-then back off till it just starts to seem erratic then go back to where it first becomes a steady hum (very faint)
- ground balance (switch in fixed start pumping then switch to tracking)
after this you leave your GB switch to fixed
- go to noise cancel and do the auto tune
(I do the auto tune how the book suggest where you put motion on fast do the half circle to find the location of the EMI
Return motion back to preset perform auto tune)
Rx gain-
start with factory presets (In my opinion 1 click on the Rx gain knob equals 20 on the stabilizer) so go up with the Rx till the threshold gets erratic (Remember the machine has to be constantly moving while you are listening for the proper adjustments)than see if you can stabilize the threshold with stabilizer if you get to 4 go down one click on the RX gain. Repeat till you got it stable. Don't worry if that ends up with you below the factory preset on Rx gain because you won't hear the faint sound of thin alloys like brass with an erratic threshold.
Soil timings-
If the soil is mineralized and I go by color ( I contacted minelab and the techs had no scientific method to measure mineralization) If it's burgundy in color I'm using sensitive extra and above (to the right of the soil timings chart)
I use these rules at every time I go out. It's time consuming but worth it.

Motion (I vary between medium or slow) medium when I'm looking for a new nector sector (ha ha sorry had to see if you're still with me) slow once I'm making finds
this gives a little leave way in your sweep speed.
Rx gain (that day 16)
Audio type Normal
Audio Tone 50
Stabilizer (that day 6)
Signal Peak 16
Target Volume 20 (you want to leave volume and target volume on 20 because the machine will make you think it's rejecting a target when all it's really doing is trying to protect your hearing)
Response Normal
Tracking Speed Medium
