- Go to Control Center
- Click on Edit My Files
- Click on the image name that you are using in your signature
- When the image is displayed, then copy the URL that shows up in your browsers address bar
- Click on Edit Signature
- Replace the current URL for your picture with the new one you just copied
- Submit and it should work now

1. Attach an image to the post

This method utilizes the "Attach" link located above the post box when making a new post or reply. This method actually allows you to choose a picture from your local hard drive and upload it to the My Treasure Spot server. You can then insert the attached picture somewhere in your post or the picture will be inserted at the end of your post when you submit it. You can attach up to 5 pictures per post. 2. Insert an image link to the post

This method allows you to insert a link or url for a picture that is already located somewhere on the Internet. There is a tool bar located just about the area where you type your post. One of those icons, that looks like a mountain and sun, will let you "Insert image url" into the post. Place your cursor where you want to picture to be located then click this icon. Just follow the prompts to insert the correct information. This method will let you insert almost unlimited pictures into a post but use common sense. I think that I have setup all request for free club forums (for the ones I received the setup info). If I have missed setting up a request or you would like to make one, there is some info I need when you make the request.

Here is the info that I need to setup the forum.

I will setup which ever individuals that you specify as moderators of this forum. It will be those individual's responsibilities to monitor the forum for questionable content. As moderators, they will have the ability to delete and edit all post in that forum.

Once the forum is setup, then you can add a link to the forum from your club's website so that it is directly accessible from there.

Many of you may not know but My Treasure Spot has been online since 1997. I started the Spot as a way to learn more about web programing and how to run a website. I also wanted to offer those in the hobby an alternative to the detecting forums that were in existence at that time.

Those that have been around since day one or for most of the time that the Spot has been online can vouch that I have been very consistent in trying to run the Spot as a fair, friendly and fun website. That is basically how I adopted the motto "Finds, Friends and Fun". Past and present actions by members of a certain website have always threatened this atmosphere here at the Spot.

The website of which I speak will here fore be referred to as TD. I think everyone understands who I mean.

I have thought long and hard about how to handle this situation. In the past there has many heated exchanges both on this forum and on TD. This has done nothing but continue to create hard feelings and provide fodder for certain maniacal individuals at TD to create alternate realities and distorted versions of the truth. This tactic has not been successful in solving anything. I firmly believe that these types of exchanges cannot continue here at the Spot.

Effective immediately the following posting guidelines and frame of mind will be in effect here at My Treasure Spot. The forum TD does not exist and has never existed. From the perspective of this forum, TD is the black hole of the Internet. Any and all post referring to TD, hunts sponsored by TD or the actions of certain users will be deleted without explanation. All moderators of the Treasure Spot will be directed to take this action upon seeing such post. The Diggin' forum is for the discussion of items relating to the hunts and the exchange of friendship developed due to these hunts.

I truly believe that this course of action is in the best interest of My Treasure Spot and of the DIV hunts. We all know that Diggin' In Virginia is the best hunt in the nation. These hunts promote the same ideals as My Treasure Spot..."Finds, Friends and Fun". Ignoring and not providing ammunition for some individuals at TD is the best way to continue the traditions of this site and the hunt.

These guidelines for posting are in no way meant to disparage the majority of the users at TD, just certain individuals that have demonstrated their desire to destroy this website and the DIV hunts. All are welcome to visit and participate at the Spot as long as they follow the rules and spirit of My Treasure Spot.

I hope that everyone understands why I am taking this stance. I am in no way trying to stop the free expression of opinions and healthy discussion...just the ones that pertain to a site that no longer exist. After the file is selected click on submit.
Then in my control center, click on My files. You should see something like this

Click on the filename that you want to use and the image will open in you browser.

Copy the URL in the address pane. Go to Edit my signature. Paste the URL between the and submit. That should do it.

The process for sign up is fairly simple. An announcement will be made on the Diggin' forum when the sign ups will begin. Instructions will be given on that forum for the sign up process. Typically, the sign up will last several days and the order in which you sign up does not factor into the selection of participants.

Remember this is an invitational hunt so many slots are filled prior to the public sign up. The slots left open after the initial list is compiled are filled through a combination of the person's participation in the Treasure Spot forums, shear dumb luck and other criteria that are established by the DIV committee. Remember this is an invitational hunt!

Read the instructions that are shown. Next click on the "Browse" button.

Search your computer for the file you want to upload and attach.

After you have found the file, it's name will show up in the box to the left of the "Browse" button. Now click on the "Attach" button.

The file name will now show up with a "Insert Into Post" and a "Delete" button. If you want the image to show up at the end of your post then you do not need to do anything else. The forum script will automatically add any images in the list to the end of your post.

If you want to place an image into your post at a specific location, then put your cursor at that location and click the "Insert Into Post" button. Be sure to always do a preview before you post your message to make sure that everything is showing correctly.

One section is called "Edit Signature". In this area you can save information that can be added to the bottom of all of your post, either manually or automatically. An example of how this information can be used is:

It is good to add the dividing line like I have above to separate your signature from your post.

You can also include images in your signature. Also in the "My Control Panel" is a link called "Edit My Files". In this section you can upload images that you want to include in your signature. You can also use images that might be saved elsewhere on the Internet.

After you have uploaded the image you want to include in your signature, you need to click on the image link so that you can see the URL to use in your signature section. The easiest way to use that URL is to copy and paste it.

Using the example of a signature I gave above, you can include the following in your signature:



The is the code to let the forum scripts know that this is an image that is between them. This code can be used to signify an image in any post on the forums. This code is useful if you want to add more images to a post than is allowed via the normal image posting method.

Next go to the link in "My Control Center" called "Forum Settings". In this section there is an option called "Enable 'Add my signature' as default:". Change this option to YES and your signature will automatically be added to the bottom of any message you port. There is also a check box available when you make a post to include your signature manually if you don't want it added automatically.
