Though I use a $300 microphone, there's another mic almost as good that you can buy for $33.00. With this USB mic and some free software you can download from the internet, you can produce your own professional-sounding podcast.

The photo shows the audio track of the show as seen on the computer screen, my small mixer, and my microphone in its sound-isolating box.

Thoroughly disgusted with the events of the day I arrived home and told Marie "It was time to leave" and with that we were on our way. Must say by 1400hrs the weather sure had turned for the better as the rain clouds left replaced by a gorgeous sunny day.

After a stop at Tim's we parked at the lowered lake that Navy Davy and I had been hammering with good success. Swinging area was limited as the lake was being refilled. Marie made herself at home on the new stone steps as I swung the Freedom 3 scoffing a small silver ring, a button and a few coins.

Finished quota off at a local park with Marie snapping photos left and right. One photo she took stood out and I told her I would buy this for her if I dug enough up! Not in this life time me son!

Anyway quota was had. Home we did go.

Once at our humble abode the best part of the day was delivered!

COULD IT BE! YES YES YES YES! My birthday present to myself had arrived.

Even came with a manual...one I haven't read for over 20 years!

Unfortunately I go under the knife tommorrow and won't get a chance for a tad to swing her or the other ones I own.

For the next while I'll be an armchair quarterback watching and reading about you bouys a swinging and cheering youz on. Happy hunting and a special thanks to Randy in Kansas (a.k.a. Hombre) for selling me this finely crafted lean, mean and green machine made by Garrett! Hombre also saved me from shelling out a few bucks to customs by marking "repaired detector" on the box!

Got home , cleaned up and tried to adjust my new ride. Great thing that you don't have to take a driver's test as I managed to bump into a few things. Thinking I'll be crutching it more than using the ride even though I hear it gets great gas mileage!

Mother's day. The one who brought us into the world and loved and nutured us. Think this was taken just a few years before I was born as best as I can find out. Only photo I have of my biological father and mom together. Love and miss you as all sons should!

I was home playing scrabble on line and holding my own but that got kind of thin after I played a person from the Philippines who bitch slapped me by 200 points....back to back bingos.

I called Navy Davy as the rain let up and no answer so I figured where he would be...and he was....the lowered lake. As I approached him he had the "grin" and promptly showed me a dozen buttons that he had already dug. Best of the lot was the little anchor cuff one! Had the Freedom 3 and was loaded for whatever. Sad to say that after about my 15th target I enlisted ND's help in hole digging as I was just too sore. On one such target ND pulled apart the plug he dug for me and out popped the best 1832 this bouy has ever dug.


Anyway we (mostly he) dug a few more coins and called it a day.

Anyway Tuesday is the big day and scared sh$tless as the worst thing I have ever had done to me is got half a tooth pulled out from my police years when I got kicked in the face by a lady whose husband I was choking out in the middle of the road.

Good conversation and a great view made up for the lack of finds. After an hour and a tad I had to pack it in with SS and I planning an outing next Monday with the girls. Best find in the field was the gold guild button by SS.

Managed 6 modern pennies. After a coffee at his abode I started the hour long drive home detouring to the lowered lake to round off the quota for the day. Managed a 1954 dime which is the year of my birth. Tomorrow is taken up with my per operation tests.....oh joy!

It weigh about 25-30 pounds, is about the size of a melon ... maybe 8" ...
and looks/feels like Granite. it is perfectly smooth and makes one wonder
about the life of a Spanish sailor in 1559, the year this fleet was lost to a
hurricane ..... imagine spending so much time with a small hammer and
chisel until it came out in a usable state.

Cortez brought supplies of iron, and blacksmiths from Spain in the 1520s to
build small ships used in the final seige of today's Mexico City ... but other
than that, it was some time before such things as iron shot could be made
in the New World.

After a quick fix I was off to the "United Nations Field" and within 2 minutes was swarmed by a multitude of foreign speaking rug rats. Gave them the 1000 yard stare from ten feet away and it seemed to work. Image me dragging my left leg like Quassimotto had more to do with it then the look!

Got sniffed,I growled, got quota and thought about going for a century.....well at least for 2 seconds till my knee told me it was time to go home. Must say Ize gut to get a few more digs in before I git laid up. As always me Freedom 3 was a dream to swing.

We both dug a ton of garbage but the view made up for it.

Johhnie D hit a penny and like I a mound of lead.

Detected near the edge where the tidal bore comes in and thought it was cool seeing the low tide.

Well me son iffen I was after quota today I would make it home in say about....3 years especially since I was swinging the Pro instead of my vintage Freedom 3.
Neat thingie and not sure what it is but is a tad ornate.

I was frightened as it bared it's fangs, growled and rose to it's full height of about 11.....inches. It was the disease and I eyeballed the cure...a cosmic interphase disrupter that would turn that puppy to mush.

My luck held and the zeenomorph scurried away when I bared my fangs. But wait...what was this...could it be....yes an interstellar modulating communicator....I could call home!

I called......no one answered. I was lost. Swinging merrily away but lost in a sort of purple haze! Bell tones. Dig. Bell tones. Dig. Quota was had and I could teleport home.....payment was in hand but I was overcome as I opened another find...laying on the surface of Totlandia.......visions,dancing, flying through the skies! Totlandiers yelling, screaming...was was in this vessel?

I pulled myself out of deep space and headed home in a trance ....in the beat.

I think the big circle/shaft thing is relatively modern -- any thoughts on what that is?

We departed and hit a playing field leaving the newbies behind looking for the oldies. Man the newbies were the lucky ones as the United Nations rugrat program hit ND,HB and I full force on this playing field!. Navy Davy I'm sure felt like a downed wilderbeast beset upon by a pack of jackels. What an unGodly and unruly lot of kids.
