A little different kind of History found at last DIV
December 09, 2011 02:18PM
I found this at the last DIV it's a small piece of metal with a rivet in the hole and a small washer on the other side. In days gone by there was men called Tinkers who would travel by hoarse and wagon to your house, they would sharpen scissors knives and if you had a pot with a hole in it the repair was made with the rivet and washer. The old saying Not worth a Tinkers dam means that the pot was not able to be repaired because it was to thin.

sorry to hear that....i found the e-bay link after i googled "mendits". i remembered them from a hardware store i worked in back in the 60's. going to that ad link did not affect my computer. i've heard of getting a virus or malware while on ebay and clicking on a popup ad but not from a seller's item ad.
