Received an e-mail from the hunt committee and as of 4 days ago, there are 90 registered participants for the hunt. About 63 are from Canada and 27 are from the USA. Generally, the hunt sees about 5 to 15 walk-on hunters who were not able to commit early on but found that they could make the hunt for either one or both of the days. Two detectors (Minelab) will be given away on Saturday during the afternoon hunt and three detectors from other companies will be given away during the two Sunday hunts. Because the committee has had a successful 50/50 raffle, they have cash to purchase additional silver to be planted during the hunts. They have asked that participants who have silver coins that they want to sell, to bring the coins to the hunt and talk to the hunt master to sell their silver. Lots of great prizes have been submitted to the committee and we are expecting a very successful hunt. Hope to see you there. Visit the website for complete information.
Personally, my wife and I will travel from Windsor to Niagara Falls and will commute to the hunt (about 25 miles) each day. Dinner each night at a Falls area restaurant along with a walk along the Falls drive, the fireworks displays and the tulip gardens are in full display.
