found around 6:00 PM on the last day. The Kentish Gaurds were part of the 2nd Rhode Island commanded by Elisha Hunt Rhodes during the latter part of the War. They were originally formed in 1774 to protect the town of East Greenwhich, Rhode Island from British aggression. Major General Nathanael Greene was a member of the Kentish Gaurds.
