I have been getting that error lately whenever the browser tries to open a PDF file. Have not solved it yet.

You can still view the file by right clicking on it. Save it and then open it up outside the browser.

The list is an Adobe Acrobat file that opens in another window in my browser.

Check your browser settings. Make sure your browser will allow the opening of files like Adobe Acrobat. Either internal of the browser or external on the desktop.
Make sure you have Adobe Reader (latest version) loaded on your computer.
Get a Mac (just kidding). eye popping smiley
