It's better than that stupid "Savage" relic hunt show but not much better. All these idiots do is, show the public, that all diggers are interested in is selling the things they find. It doesn't matter how much everyone says about "Saving History" , one of these shows changes the complete perspective that the public sees. It looks to me they're pushed by the companies trying to sell detectors.by Trocar - The Good Stuff

then I would say it is the bottom vent to a Tenor Horn or Baritone (depends on the size). I'm trying to compare it to one of the bullets and it looks about that size. It could be to a Tuba or Alto Horn also. If it's made of pewter than I doubt it's from a musical instrument. What is the material?by Trocar - Relic & Bottle

There were some keys to a clarinet found I think by Butch Brown a few DIV's ago. This key could be from a wood flute, but this type of key was mostly a concert instrument not a field type fife.by Trocar - Relic & Bottle

Here's a shot of an ALTO and a shot of the rotary valve is in the back. BTW- I think your part has either been in a fire or smashed from something. Hope this helps!by Trocar - Relic & Bottle

Here's a few shot of a Rotary Valve from a TUBA or Bass as it was called then. Yours has what seems to be an internal bumper stop system like on a "STARK" or "ALLIN VALVE" system. All the others were on the outside of the valve. If you measure across the circle of the valve(as best you can) I can tell if it's from a Cornet, Alto, Tenor, or Bass. Neat find and there might be other things there bby Trocar - Relic & Bottle

There was a Funeral Home in my hometown many years ago. All the "Homeless" people would come around and knock on the door after hours ( like a funeral home is ever closed ) and ask to check "The Box". --- The box was filled with old dentures that were not always used in embalming. They would try each plate until they found one that fit pretty well and then off they'd go. Very sad in a way,by Trocar - Relic & Bottle

Someone found something expensive (No one knows who, what or when) but the city council stopped any detector use in the park. Heaven forbid someone might find something they can't tax.by Trocar - Diggin' In Virginia
