Joe I've found that the large dragon flies are more apt to do it that the small ones. That one is a Eastern Pond Hawk. It may sound weird but you have to move really slow as to not startle him and talk to him in a soft voice. Some times they will just take off and some times they will lesson. Their heads will follow the sound they hear. Have your camera in quite or silent mode. It is defiantly a rush to have him on your hand. I saw my first and as a reflex I said Lord let me hold him. You see what happened.Quote
