I'm still smiling after finding this fantastic piece of Civil War history on the first morning of DIV 45. To add to the memory, this Mississippi Sword Belt Plate was dug in plain view of the Farley House. As soon as I dug it and brushed it for a minute or two, I sent a picture to my digging buddy and mentor Mike Null. He called me immediately and stated "Do you know what you got there? That's unbelievable." Shortly after celebrating on the phone with Mike, John, Rose and Nancy happened to drive by and stopped to talk. They were the first people I got to show it off too. The look on John's face was priceless when I showed it to them. It was also such a pleasure to share the find with other diggers throughout the day and at the picnic on Saturday. I got to speak with some really great people who appreciated the find almost as much as I did. Thanks once again to everyone who made this hunt and all the other DIV's possible. It was a find I will never forget.
