You must request to join the private forum in order to be marked confirmed. Please follow the instructions below. Please must request to join the private forum so you will have access to the hunt information.
Private forums have been setup for disseminating information pertaining to the hunts. If you are attending Coles Hill then request to join DIV XLVI. If you are attending Spillmans then request to join DIV XLVII. Information posted on these forums will be private in nature relating to these hunts only and of interest to people that are participants in the hunt.
The link below will take you to a section in the CONTROL CENTER that will allow you to make a request to join the group for the private forum. Only request to join the private forum for the hunt that you are attending. If you are attending both then you need to join both groups.

After you make the request, a forum moderator will have to approve the request before you can access the private forum. Request will only be approved for those persons that are participants of the hunt. Once your request is approved, you will see the private forum listed on the main forum index below the regular DIV forum.
The regular DIV forum will continue to be the main source of information about all DIV hunts. Only use the private forum to receive information specific to the hunt (i.e. payments, parking, hotel info, etc...) or to ask questions specific to the hunt in which you are participating.
Any information posted or discussed in the private forum should NOT be relayed or discussed with non-participants of the hunt.
Deadline for confirmations is Monday July 29th and deadline for entry fee payments is Friday September 13th

For years my Uncles and my Dad have been who I would call after a dig so I could y’all about the finds by everyone at the hunts and we would chat about how it’s still out there to be found. Two years ago my oldest uncle suffered a stroke and though he is still here his mind is gone so we can no longer have the conversations we used to. Last night my digging buddy and uncle Charlie passed away at 65 years old. This was a blow for all of us because he hadn’t been sick or at least had not told anyone that he was. In two days he went into the hospital and was gone. For me it is the loss of not only my mentors and what got me into this crazy hobby but also the loss of two of the most dear people and my life. I worry because my dad has now lost them both in some capacity or another and I need to be there to keep him positive through this time while trying to hold myself together as well.
So these hunts will mark the first time in my 25 years of digging that can’t pick up the phone and call them and I know calling my dad will be hard on us but at least we will still be a Ken to look back on all of our memories.
Sorry for the long post but you guys will understand this I know

So these hunts will mark the first time in my 25 years of digging that can’t pick up the phone and call them and I know calling my dad will be hard on us but at least we will still be a Ken to look back on all of our memories.

Very sorry to hear of your losses, Davey. I understand. I'm sure you'll cherish the memories and the love for the rest of your life. I believe it was Jim Good that once told me when I lost a dear aunt "To have loved someone validates their life"...I've kept those words close to me. God bless you.
